ByteSnap Design Ltd, an electronics design and embedded systems
consultancy, is celebrating after being shortlisted for two
prestigious awards; the UK's Consultancy of the Year at the third
British Engineering Excellence Awards (BEEAs) and Design Team of
the Year at the European Electronic Industry Awards (Elektra).
Open to companies with an engineering design function, the BEEAs
aim to demonstrate and promote the quality of UK engineering
design, provide a benchmark of excellence for the industry and
recognise those making an impact on the world of quality
engineering and design. Birmingham-based ByteSnap Design was named
a finalist thanks to its ability to work on all project stages from
conception through to prototype design and testing.
The Elektras are designed to promote best practice in key areas
of the electronics industry and give European electronics companies
the opportunity to showcase their achievements. One of only four
finalists for Design Team of the Year, ByteSnap was shortlisted due
to its exceptional in-house resources for the design of digital
signal processing (DSP) to applications software.
Dunstan Power, Director of ByteSnap Design and one of the
company founders, said: "Being shortlisted as Consultancy of the
Year and Design Team of the Year is a great honour and winning
either of these awards would serve to showcase our growth and
success over the past year. With around 60 per cent of our business
coming from repeat contracts, referrals and customer and hardware
supplier recommendations, ByteSnap Design has enjoyed a successful
12 months including the launch of the industry's first ever
ZigBee® Smart Energy compliant metering module."
The embedded systems consultancy is no stranger to awards,
having won an ICT Excellence Award in 2010 for SnapUI. The
lightweight, high performance windows embedded application
framework was also certified by AccreditUK and achieved Microsoft
Silver Partner status, making ByteSnap Design one of only three UK
design partners to be awarded this standing.
BEEAs' Julie Knox said: "The judging standards are rigorous and
the winners will be businesses which have recognised that
creativity and design innovation are the critical elements of
continually improving and reinvigorating themselves to stay ahead
of the competition. This is an opportunity for engineering design
companies to raise their profile among the UK's design engineering
community and set themselves apart from competitors."
The BEEAs winners will be named at an awards luncheon on
Thursday 13th October 2011 at the Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in
London while the Elektra winners will be announced at a joint
awards dinner and Christmas party on Thursday 14th December at
London's Westminster Bridge Park Plaza.
One of only a few companies providing both hardware and software
design services, ByteSnap Designs offers in-depth experience and
understanding of electronic and software engineering that covers
the whole embedded system stack, from low-level hardware to
applications.
