Miles Templeman, Director General of the Institute of Directors
(IoD), set out the priorities for the future growth and success of
UK businesses when he addressed the Business Leaders' Dinner in
Nottingham (22 September).
A long-time supporter of the East Midlands, Miles Templeman was
making one of his final speeches as IoD Director General. Some 180
business leaders and guests attended the event, held in the atrium
of the Newton Arkwright Building at Nottingham Trent
University.
He was joined by Simon Biltcliffe, the IoD's current national
Director of the Year and CEO of Webmart, a print management company
he started in 1996, which has grown to £30million.
During the evening, Ron Lynch, IoD East Midlands Regional
Director, launched the East Midlands Director of the Year event for
the coming year.
Peter Fothergill, IoD East Midlands Chairman, praised the work
of Miles Templeman. He commented:" Since 2004 we have had an
exceptional Director General in Miles Templeman, who combined deep
business experience with a global awareness of political and social
issues that allowed him to represent the views of Directors at the
highest levels, both in this country and internationally."
A charity raffle during the evening raised almost £2,000
for the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust.
The Business Leaders' Dinner was sponsored by The Nottingham
Trent University and the Phoenix Partners.
