Private bank Brown Shipley is continuing its expansion in
Birmingham with a move to larger offices in a landmark building in
the heart of the business district to accommodate its growing
team.
The relocation from Brindleyplace to 3,568 sq ft of space in the
prestigious 45 Church Street development - with its sheer glass
frontage and panoramic views across the city - will take place in
the final week of September.
Brown Shipley, which has more than £100m in assets under
management in the Midlands, has made three senior appointments in
Birmingham so far this year. Anne Brookes was recruited as Private
Banking Director in February and she was joined in April by two
Senior Private Banking Managers, Clive Batchelor and Adrian Lewis.
The trio work alongside the investment team led by Private Client
Director David Craig.
David said: "Despite the testing economic climate we are
experiencing a growth in demand for our services in the Midlands.
In part that's because in volatile times people recognise more than
ever the value of their wealth being well managed by someone they
can trust.
"Over and above that though I think there is a very strong
entrepreneurial spirit in the Midlands. Busy individuals who devote
a tremendous amount of time to their businesses greatly appreciate
having someone they can depend on to manage their wealth as they
continue to create it.
"Our expansion in Birmingham is a vote of confidence in the
ability of people here to generate new wealth and opportunity - and
in the future prosperity of the region as a whole."
Peter Collier, Marketing Director of Brown Shipley, said: "Our
emphasis on long-term, truly personal relationships sets Brown
Shipley apart even in the world of private banking and we have
ambitious plans to continue our expansion in the Midlands. We see
45 Church Street as the ideal location for the team that will be at
the forefront of that growth."
Matt Long of DTZ, joint letting agent at 45 Church Street with
GBR Phoenix Beard, said: "Brown Shipley are exactly the kind of
prestigious business that we have always envisioned for 45 Church
Street and the development off Colmore Row is rapidly becoming an
iconic feature of Birmingham's skyline. They join other occupiers
in the Standard Life building, including Mazars, Hyman Robertson,
Jones Lang LaSalle and Liberty Insurance."
