An innovative new Leicester company is set to create 20
jobs.
SYNETY, which develops "cloud-based" telecommunications
technology, has opened offices at Phoenix Square in the city's
creative and cultural quarter.
Launching with seven employees in September, it expects to grow
to around 20 people over the next two years, and is already
planning another site in Leicester as well as a sales office in
London.
Mark Seemann, chief executive, explained why he chose Phoenix
Square as the headquarters for his new enterprise: "I wanted a
modern environment, city centre based, with good access to
broadband, and Phoenix Square ticked all the boxes. The location is
ideal with the train station close-by, and the high-tech
specifications of the office spaces and building as a whole fitted
our brand perfectly.
"I am also keen to employ graduates and give them the chance to
work on an exciting new product within a start-up company, so the
fact that De Montfort and Leicester Universities are both in the
city is an added incentive."
SYNETY is working on an innovative new product called Cloud Call
that will be launching UK wide in October and in the US next year.
It is an online integrated phone system that will allow people to
make, receive, record, and index calls through their PC or from any
mobile, desk phone or smart phone.
John Long from Phoenix Square's developer Blueprint, said: "It
is exciting to see a brand new business choose Phoenix Square and
join the flourishing creative community that is already here. I'm
delighted to welcome SYNETY, who are an excellent addition to the
vibrant mix of businesses we have here."
Only one office unit remains at Phoenix Square, providing around
1,661 sq ft. Each Grade A office has been designed with
sustainability in mind, giving occupiers all the benefits of energy
efficiency and a reduced carbon footprint.
The prominent on-street frontages provide fantastic
opportunities for branding, while a double height ground floor
space could be adapted to accommodate a mezzanine level for future
expansion. All occupiers have access to a central courtyard, and to
a range of facilities including conference space, meeting rooms,
cinema, and digital and media production facilities.
Chris Page, of Innes England, said: "Phoenix Square is an
important development for businesses wishing to relocate to brand
new office accommodation within the Cultural Quarter. The outlook
for the regions commercial property market looks increasingly
positive with new start business such as SYNETY taking high
specification offices and a rise in the level of enquiries for
office and industrial space compared to recent times."
Phoenix Square is unique, combining contemporary living space,
with independent arts cinema, café bar, state of the art
workspaces and office studios to house Leicester's growing number
of creative businesses. It is the creation of a partnership project
between Blueprint, Phoenix, Leicester City Council in collaboration
with De Montfort University and is an example of 21st century
sustainable building design, coupled with leading-edge
architectural quality.
