The forthcoming changes to laws governing the Equal Treatment for Agency Workers and the recent introduction of the Bribery Act for businesses are two legal topics to be covered in a key employment law seminar for HR professionals this September.

The half-day training workshop is the first in a series of in-depth seminars to be held across the East Midlands in the next 12 months. The training is being delivered by employment relations experts Acas and Nottingham law firm, Gateley to bring organisations up-to-date with the latest regulation changes in a fast-paced and ever changing employment law arena.

The first seminar provides an overview on the introduction this October of the 'Equal Treatment for Agency Workers' regulations. The workshop will look behind the latest headline cases in employment law to bring the training to life.

Following the introduction in July of the Bribery Act for businesses, delegates will also learn everything they need to know about this new law. Gateley's expert employment lawyers will advise on how to adhere to the regulations, which were brought in by the Coalition Government in an attempt to clamp down on business corruption.

Commenting on the forthcoming employment law seminars, Kate Nowicki acting area director of Acas in the East Midlands said: "We offer training in all aspects of employment relations for all types of businesses. With over 30 years experience of working with employers we have developed high quality, in-depth events that provide insight and expertise in key areas of employment law.

"Employment law is constantly changing and it's important for businesses to be well informed so they can ensure they are taking the right steps to protect themselves and their employees. Gateley are experts in the field of employment law and offer a practical approach that takes into account the employer and their staff.  We value the experience that they will bring to these in-depth and hugely beneficial sessions for HR professionals."

Andrew Macmillan, partner and head of employment in Gateley's Nottingham office will be leading the workshops across the region, he added: "We appreciate there is a minefield of information out there for businesses looking to keep abreast of the latest employment law issues. Our aim is to make the workshops as straightforward and relevant as possible. By using real life case history, we will provide delegates with all the tools they need to ensure compliance with important legislation.

"We are looking forward to working with the Acas team and bring a wealth of experience in offering bespoke employment law training that really delivers results."

The half day seminars cost £160 (exc VAT).  The first seminar is being held at 09.30 on Monday 26 September at Acas's Nottingham offices. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
