Willmott Dixon has won a place on the £3 billion
Constructing West Midlands Framework, where it will compete against
three other companies on the framework lot which covers projects
worth over £500,000.
The four-year framework, which can be extended to eight years,
has an estimated value of £3 billion and will be used by
Birmingham City Council as well as being available to all public
sector bodies within the West Midlands. It's anticipated the
framework will include projects that will form part of Birmingham's
ambitious £10bn development masterplan, known as the Big City
plan, published last September.
Willmott Dixon has a big presence in the West Midlands. It
currently repairs and maintains 60,000 properties owned by
Birmingham City Council and employs over 1,000 people in the
region. Earlier this month, the company was appointed by Birmingham
City University to build phase one of its City Centre Campus.
John Frankiewicz, chief executive officer of Willmott Dixon
Capital Works says, "Our major presence in the West Midlands saw us
spend nearly £80 million with local companies last
year.
"We are really looking forward to continuing that investment in
the local economy by working with Birmingham City Council on the
new framework to realise its ambitious future plans for growth and
development across the city."
