Ikanos Consulting, an industry leading IT solutions provider,
has chosen The Point in West Bridgford as its first permanent
office location in the UK in a deal secured by Innes
England.
Acting for Bournston Developments, the Midlands property agent
has let a second floor office suite of 1,464 sq ft to the IT
solutions provider on a five year lease. This is the third letting
at The Point by Innes England in the last six months.
This is the first office that Ikanos Consulting has established
after it was set up by owner James Woodall four years ago. The
company, which counts mobile phone giant Motorola amongst its
clients, was previously run from James' home and due to enormous
growth over the last year, James has now chosen The Point to
accommodate its continuing expansion.
James says: "I set the company up four years ago and never
dreamt it would grow so quickly. Initially there was just myself, I
then employed three other consultants. Since August last year,
things have just exploded and there are now around 11 of us in
total. I moved to Nottingham from Brighton last year, and have been
living in West Bridgford ever since. I decided to look for an
office because I felt we needed a permanent base.
"The Point was ideal as it wasn't far from my home and it is a
really striking building which makes a real impression as soon as
you see it, which is exactly the image we want to create to clients
and potential clients. At this point we only have one UK-based
client, so this move will also be a great opportunity for us to
target some more local companies too."
Craig Straw of Innes England, who acted on behalf of Bournston
Ltd, said: "We are pleased to welcome Ikanos to The Point. As its
first permanent office location, it is not only centrally located
with good transport links, but it is also a striking building which
really fits with the contemporary feel and image of the Ikanos
brand."
This is the third unit that Innes England has let at The Point,
following on from the letting to The Stroke Association earlier
this year and to local distribution company Scotts in December.
The Point, situated close to Trent Bridge cricket ground, is a
Grade A office development with suites of up to 16,674 sq ft
available. FHP is joint agent on the scheme.
Acting on behalf of the landlord, Adam Youatt, real estate
partner in the Nottingham office of law firm Gateley, said: "We
have worked with our client Bournston to ensure the commercial
leases have been drafted in a tenant-friendly way.
"In addition to the prime location and competitive rents, this
is a key incentive in making this office location so appealing for
businesses. Given the backdrop of a challenging economic
environment, it is more important than ever for us to be able to
help complete contracts quickly and efficiently. We've enjoyed
working with Bournston on a number of deals for the Point in West
Bridgford and wish them every success in turning it into a thriving
business location."
Paul Kilmister of Bournston said: "I was very impressed with
speed of the deal from all sides. I have also been amazed at the
quality of the fit out that Ikanos has undertaken. They are another
great addition to The Point and I think it is the ideal office
location for a communications firm to operate out of."
