Drayton Manor Theme Park's new restaurant, The Grill Inn, has
appointed a Restaurant Manager, Abbas Zaidi and Head Chef, Lee
Holland, who are busy preparing for its imminent opening on Monday
8th August.
As well as expanding the park's culinary offering to theme park
visitors, the family friendly brasserie will be open to local
residents and passers-by. The restaurant will be open daily from
10am and will serve lunch and dinner, from a menu including
mouth-watering steak, rib, chicken and fish dishes, which are
locally and sustainably sourced. There will also be a tasty
selection of cocktails, non-alcoholic mocktails and hot drinks on
offer.
Abbas has over 10 years experience in the restaurant industry,
having worked for both independent and international chain
establishments including Yo Sushi. This experience makes him
well-versed in the daily demands of running a restaurant and his
extensive knowledge of cocktails will make for a vibrant and
popular bar area.
Lee is joining the Grill Inn as Head Chef, a role he is familiar
with, having previously worked at Tanners Restaurant in Plymouth,
Devon, which won AA Restaurant of the Year whilst under his
leadership. He has created delicious menus for The Grill Inn, which
include a selection of salads, sharing plates, burgers and steaks
with a variety of starches and sauces on the side. There's also a
specially designed children's menu and dessert menu to ensure every
guest is catered for.
Colin Bryan, Managing Director, Drayton Manor Theme Park,
comments: "We're really pleased to welcome Abbas and Lee to the
Drayton Manor family. They each bring with them a wealth of
experience and a real passion for excellent food and customer
service and I'm confident that together they will ensure the
success of The Grill Inn.
"Our plan for the next few years is to turn Drayton Manor Theme
Park into a leisure resort. This restaurant is part of that plan,
as is our new hotel, which is due to open on Monday 15th
August."
The Grill Inn has booth seating accommodating 188 people
internally, as well as an additional 40 people on the patio. It has
been created following a -£350,000 refurbishment of the
former Missanda Suite, which had been one of the park's hospitality
venues for private and corporate functions since 1954. The
restaurant will also have a separate lounge and bar area, along
with two dining rooms, which can be hired for private events.
