On July 28th Portmeirion Group received yet another accolade,
this time in recognition of its commitment to its employees.
The Group has been awarded Gold Level in the Staffordshire
Workplace Health Award, for its continuing support for the health,
well-being and welfare of its employees. The award was
presented to the Portmeirion Group by Cllr Robbie Marshall and
Rachel Shepherd from Staffordshire County Council together with
Tony Plimbley from Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
Portmeirion Group's proactive and positive approach to its
workforce in terms of their health and well being was cited as
being the key factor in the Group achieving this accolade, as was
the fact that this is an ongoing commitment to its staff.
Michael Haynes, Managing Director, Portmeirion Group UK,
said:
"People spend a significant proportion of their lives at work
and many have physically and/or mentally demanding roles. The
health and well being of our employees is therefore very important
to the ongoing success of Portmeirion."
It's common sense. A happy, healthy workforce is always
going to be more productive. I give great credit to all our staff;
their commitment has been instrumental in our current success. The
least we can do is make sure that we continue to do whatever we can
to look after them".
