Temperatures are rising at an award winning Staffordshire Indian
restaurant which is now serving the UK's hottest curry.
Customers at The Dilshad Restaurant in Chadsmoor, near Cannock,
will have to sign a special disclaimer before being served a
Dilshad Inferno curry because it is so hot.
The Dilshad Inferno which can be ordered in chicken, beef or
lamb, uses the Naga chile which is so hot that Indian curry houses
won't use it on a British menu - until now.
Tony Uddin, owner of the Dilshad, is so confident that customers
won't finish the dish that he says anyone who orders one and
finishes it will have it for free.
But they can only try it after signing a disclaimer which warns
customers of the perils of tucking into a Dilshad Inferno which is
guaranteed to make your mouth feel like it is on fire.
Tony said: "I have many customers who come here and enjoy a
really hot curry so I thought I would try to make one which is the
hottest in the United Kingdom. I have used the naga chile in the
dish which is one of the hottest chile peppers in the world. The
Dilshad Inferno is so hot that I will ask customers to sign a
disclaimer before they eat it. It will literally feel like an
inferno raging inside. The taste will be absolutely delicious but
each mouthful will hurt like crazy. The lips, tongue and throat
will feel like it is on fire. I don't think anyone will be able to
finish it. But if someone achieves the impossible I will let them
have the meal for free."
The Dilshad is the most established Indian restaurant in the
Cannock area having been open for more than 30 years.
Since its opening in 1979 the Dilshad has won a clutch of
trophies for its excellent food and service.
This includes winning the Midlands Curry Cup back in 2008 after
the restaurant impressed the Midlands Balti Association with its
choice of spices and presentation methods.
And last year Dilshad chef Babul Miah was named Chef Of The Year
in the Midlands Curry Awards beating chefs from over 50 restaurants
in Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and
Leicestershire.
