An oasis of greenery in the heart of the city.
Year Six pupil Tarjah Guy-Williams sees her winning garden
design become reality in the grounds of St John's Church of England
School in Ladywood, Birmingham.
A competition among pupils for the design was part of a joint
venture with employee benefits specialist BHSF the headquarters of
which is nearby.
Also pictured are (left to right) Matt Giblin (BHSF), Sarah Lea
(head teacher), Laura Freeman (BHSF) and Shirley Faulks
(deputy head teacher), who helped to create the garden.
Dean Parkin and Gill Dovey from BHSF also took part as part of
the firm's Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
Matt Giblin is also raising money for equipment at the school by
taking part in the Birmingham half marathon. He has been at the
Birmingham head office of BHSF for eight years and many colleagues
will be sponsoring him in October.
