South Staffordshire College students have celebrated the end of
their studies, at the Further Education Graduation Awards Ceremony,
held over three days at Drayton Manor.
The graduation awards recognised the students for their
achievements in Construction, Engineering, Science, Health, Care
and Public Services, Art, Media, IT, Land-Based studies, Business
and Skills for Working Life students. Over 50 students also
received special Outstanding Achievement and Outstanding Student
awards in a variety of subject areas.
They were joined by family and friends, senior College Staff,
Governors and Special Guest Speakers including Steve Orchard and
Mark O'Sullivan from Touch FM, Programme Director James Walshe from
Kerrang!Radio, Regional Director at the National Farmers Union
David Collier and Lewis Moore, Winner of the 2010 Midlands
Hairdresser of the Year.
Students were congratulated on stage by the College's Chief
Executive Principal Graham Morley who presented them with their
Graduate Award Certificates.
"We are proud of our learners and what they have achieved and
are confident they will utilise the skills they have learnt as a
result of College practice and teaching.
At the events, we also celebrated our own success as we are now
recognised by the Data Service as the most successful College in
Staffordshire for 16 - 18 year old education.
As we end another successful FE graduation, we hope that all our
learners found inspiration from the real life experiences the
College offered them and will now confidently enter the workplace
and continue to learn from industry experts within their chosen
field, move on to higher education or continue their further
education studies".
New students at South Staffordshire College can look forward to
high standards of teaching in world-class facilities, including the
newly constructed learning and teaching Foster Centre building,
located at the Rodbaston Campus.
