An innovative city centre nursery is offering busy parents a
breather during the school holidays by holding special two-hour
play sessions for kids.
Little Mill Nursery, in Mill Wharf, is open from 7.30am to 6pm
and offers state-of the art childcare facilities for youngsters
from the age of six weeks to eight years old.
And the nursery, run by social enterprise Enta, is now offering
the Summer Play Scheme for children so busy parents can have a
little time to themselves, whether they want to go shopping, hit
the gym or simply relax.
The service is available every weekday during the school
holidays and costs just £6. Special 'drop and shop' sessions
will also be held on Saturdays from October.
Nursery manager Jean Hayes said: "The summer holidays are a
great time for children but sometimes parents need a bit of a break
during the day.
"We always chat to the parents here and quickly realised that
there was real interest in a service that entertained their
children for a few hours in a safe, fun and affordable way.
"And because Little Mill is in the city centre, at the gateway
of Birmingham's learning quarter, the unique service is ideal for
parents who want to meet friends in town, go shopping, or simply
have some time to themselves."
The two-hour sessions are now available and parents are welcome
to bring their children to take a look around the nursery and chat
with staff.
Enta is a social enterprise and training provider and, as well
as Little Mill Nursery, it also runs Lakeside Children's and Family
Learning Centre, in Wyrley Birch, Erdington.
Other services within the Enta family include the Top Lock
Café and the Halal Kitchen; on-site conference and catering
facilities; and its new landscaping and construction
service.
