Nottinghamshire concert and live event producers, Liz Hobbs
Group Ltd, has secured a five year contract with one of the most
elite equestrian venues in the world.
Hickstead, which is predominately known for its showjumping
activities and international competitions, like the world renowned
British Jumping Derby, is working with Newark based Liz Hobbs Group
to expand its appeal, by hosting a series of music and live events
at the Sussex-based showground.
Having broken new ground for artists with the 'sport with music'
concept, Liz Hobbs Group is now the UK's largest producer of
concerts and entertainment to sporting venues, including some of
the UK's most prestigious racecourses and the company is
continually breaking new ground in concert and live event
production.
Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE, CEO of Liz Hobbs Group, said: "Hickstead
has an enviable reputation as the home of British showjumping, so
we are thrilled that our teams will working together. It's a unique
location with fantastic open-air surroundings and we are already
developing some innovative and exciting entertainment concepts,
which we hope to launch in 2012.
"We enjoy working with some amazing sporting venues across the
UK and help to empower them, to not only grow their sport through
boosting crowd figures, but by increasing revenue to invest back
into the sport itself."
Hickstead attracts over 100,000 spectators each year to watch
stars from every equestrian discipline. The course was the
first permanent showground for equestrian sport in the country.
Daisy Bunn, Director of Hickstead, said: "Hickstead is famous
for organising world class equestrian events and we are delighted
to have teamed up with Liz Hobbs Group to expand into music and
more live events. Both businesses are family run and share a very
similar ethos, and we are very excited about teaming up to deliver
the successful events that we are known for but in a new area."
It is hoped that Hickstead's investment into a programme of new
entertainment opportunities will follow the success of some of the
UK's greatest racecourses, which not only provide first class
sporting facilities, but are now recognised as events offering
great value for money, attracting some of the biggest names in
music.
