Lawyers at a Worcester law firm will be donating their fees to a
city hospice as part of a month long will-writing drive.
Throughout September, MFG Solicitors in Worcester will be
offering to write wills as part of the St Richard's Hospice 'Write
a Will' month - a scheme aimed at encouraging people to realise the
importance of planning for the future.
One hundred per cent of the law firm's fees will be donated to
the hospice which supports over 2,200 patients each year. The only
cost to people wishing to write a will is £80.00 for a single
or £100.00 for a double.
Amanda Piper, wills and probate lawyer at MFG Solicitors in
Worcester said: "The Hospice's Write a Will month offers people a
terrific opportunity to sit down with us and for a minimal cost,
have their Wills professionally prepared.
"People often misunderstand intestacy laws and put off writing a
will - a fact underlined by a recent poll which confirms that over
60 per cent of adults in the UK do not have a will. We want to play
our role in shifting that trend and hope the Write a Will
initiative will have an effect. The campaign is a rare opportunity
to help a local charity and for people to ensure their possessions
are passed on to those closest."
Amanda added: "MFG has always been an enthusiastic supporter of
the Hospice - a charity that offers an immense amount of care for
patients and families in and around Worcester. We're delighted to
be involved."
Tricia Cavell, St Richard's Hospice Fundraising Director,
commented: "All our services are free to patients and their
families but we depend on donations and legacies from generous
supporters to raise the £5.4m annually we need to provide our
services."
MFG Solicitors are taking part in St Richard's Hospice Write a
Will month from 1st - 30th September. Those wishing to make an
