Internet Central Awarded ISO 27001 For Outstanding Information Security

The Staffordshire-based company ranked as one of the leading providers of Internet security services and products in the UK has been awarded the ISO 27001 certification for its exemplary Information Security Management System (ISMS).

Internet Central Limited has become one of only a few hundred UK businesses to be awarded the ISO 27001, in recognition of the company's systematic approach to online and offline security.

Information security is fundamental to all businesses and the accreditation reflects the company's commitment to keeping data and confidential information secure.

Maitland Hyslop, Internet Central's MD commented: "We recognise and understand that the security of our customers' data is of vital importance. With this independent accreditation our customers can be confident that we have the necessary measures and internal procedures in place to protect their data and minimise any potential security risks.

The ISO accreditation confirms our status as a company capable of internationally recognised standards and we are pleased that our dedication to excellent customer service and security has been recognised.

This ISO certification also supports Internet Central's corporate objectives, while reinforcing a culture of excellence. As Internet Central continues to expand, the ISO quality framework will also assure customers that they will continue to receive the highest quality products and consistent service from Internet Central.  We are therefore rightfully proud of this award and the work that's gone in to achieving it."

To be awarded the ISO 27001 standard, Internet Central underwent a thorough procedure to demonstrate its information security management systems are of a world-class standard, a process audited by awarding body ISOQAR Ltd.

Paul Cartwright, of IT Governance who assisted Internet Central with the ISO 27001 process said: "Of all the projects I've been involved in, Internet Central's ISO 27001 project was the quickest from start to finish, which is a great testament to everybody involved.

"Internet Central has a great passion for their business and for their information security, and this really shone through."

Less than 500 companies in the UK have been awarded the ISO 27001, with Internet Central becoming one of the prestigious few when it was awarded the accreditation by ISOQAR Limited in Manchester.

"Gaining ISO 27001 across our company is the start of the journey and we'll be working hard to improve our performance yet further," added Mr Hyslop.
