Award-winning legal firm Higgs & Sons is expanding further
with the appointment of two new regulatory lawyers.
The Waterfront-based firm, which holds the Birmingham Law
Society's Law Firm of the Year accolade, welcomes solicitors David
Hetherington and James Lowe.
David and James have extensive national expertise in regulatory
law, with both having experience of defending companies, directors
and individuals investigated or prosecuted by local authorities and
government regulatory agencies.
David joins Higgs as a consultant and is recognised nationally
as a leader in his field. He has published a number of
publications on the subject of regulatory law. James joins the firm
as an associate, from DLA Piper in Birmingham.
Catherine Junor, Head of Higgs' motoring and private criminal
team, said of the new appointments: "I am delighted David and James
are joining us in this niche area of law, increasing the specialist
services we offer at Higgs.
"Although there is much talk by the Government of reducing the
regulatory burden, businesses and individuals require more than
ever, a specialist lawyer, when facing accusations of regulatory
breach."
2011 is proving an excellent year for Higgs. The firm, which
numbers near on 200 employees, has won several awards and will
welcome further specialist solicitors in the coming months to meet
the growing needs of its client base.
