Nottingham Indian restaurant the Curry Lounge has added another
prestigious award to its collection.
The restaurant won Best Indian Restaurant in the East Midlands
at the hungryhouse.co.uk English Curry Awards 2011.
Owner Arfan Razak, better known as Raz, said: "It's wonderful to
see the hard work from everyone at the Curry Lounge rewarded like
this.
"This is a very competitive market, but I am really pleased that
our passion for authentic Indian cuisine has been
recognised."
This is the first year that the English Curry Awards have been
held. The public nominated venues, and then judges for each
category visited those shortlisted to sample the food anonymously,
with each restaurant judged against a specific set of
criteria.
Over 700 guests from all over the UK came to celebrate the
winners and finalists at the event, held at The Sheridan Suite in
Manchester.
