Cherry Professional, the Derby and Nottingham-based recruitment
experts and Gateley LLP are hosting a free seminar to help
companies avoid many of the legal pitfalls of recruitment.
The seminar is on September 1st at Pride Park, with registration
from 8am, finishing at 10am following a Q&A session and
refreshments. Delegates will receive an insight into case law
through mock interviews based on genuine cases and received advice
on avoiding the legal pitfalls of the recruitment process.
Meriel Johnston, who works in the finance division of Cherry
Professional explains;
"The recruitment process can be something of a legal minefield,
especially when it comes to interviewing staff. It is crucial to
know these areas well in order to protect yourself from some pretty
hefty legal costs that result from industrial tribunals and
we hope to help our delegates to just this by bringing in the
expertise of the team from Gateley LLP."
"Many people do not realise that all discrimination legislation
applies to applicants applying for roles as well as employees.
Contravening that legal framework is becoming increasingly costly
to the employer both financially and in terms of damage to the
public image so this seminar is a very useful primer."
A similar event in Nottingham in July had nearly 60 delegates,
so those interested are advised to book early. For further
