Brian moves back to Ilkeston

Robinsons Solicitors has strengthened its position in Ilkeston with the announcement that Brian Holloway will return to head-up its office in the town.

Brian, a principal and commercial property lawyer, who has been based at the firm's Derby office, will be responsible for the strategic direction of the branch on Burns Street.

Brian started his legal career 40 years ago at Robinsons' Ilkeston office and a principal since 1975.  He has been serving the Erewash and Amber Valley communities ever since.

Five years ago, however, it was decided that the Robinsons Solicitors' principals should all be based at the firm's city centre branch; a move that saw Brian spending some time travelling to see his clients at their premises.

Now, in response to the economic climate, the company's eight principals felt that the people of Ilkeston would be better served if one of their number were based in the town - and with his local roots and large client base in the town and surrounding areas, Brian was the natural choice.

Speaking about the move, Brian said: "I'm delighted to be back in the heart of the Ilkeston community. Most of my clients live or work here or in the neighbouring towns, so it makes sense for me to be based here too.

Brian will now head up the team of six permanent lawyers and seven support staff based at Ilkeston. The Ilkeston office principally focuses on the provision of legal services across family and private client law, residential conveyancing and now commercial property sectors, with employment, charity and commercial advice provided by visiting Derby colleagues.

Brian will also be responsible for reinforcing Robinsons Solicitors' position in the town, helping to raise its profile, particularly for its commercial property work. He will be tasked with strengthening links with local businesses as well as with the wider community.

He said: "Ilkeston is the third largest town in Derbyshire and forms an important part of our long term strategy for the future of Robinsons Solicitors. It is therefore essential that we have a strong presence here, so that we can continue to effectively serve our local community."

Robinsons Solicitors is one of the best known law firms operating in the East Midlands with a clear focus upon providing high levels of client care. Robinsons offers a comprehensive range of legal services spanning across both the commercial and private client sectors.

With offices in Derby and Ilkeston, the firm is managed by a team of eight Principals, who are supported by over 40 members of staff - each of whom share the same vision of providing the highest level of professionalism and client care.
