Metallon
Local Derby business Metallon, recently benefited from the
services of Barclays Business Managers James Rutter as he spent the
day working alongside his customer as part of a pledge to find out
"first hand" about their client's needs and the range of issues
facing local businesses.
James swapped his pen for overalls to join Bill Legg,
Managing Director of Metallon - a scrap metal business which,
aided by the high global demand for base metals, is enjoying
success despite the economic downturn. James spent the day
stripping reinforced cables and delivering and collecting scrap
metal on a company lorry.
James Rutter, Barclays Business Manager in Derby said, "The more
we know and learn about our customers the better, enabling us to
provide the right levels of support and advice when required. This
initiative is taking place up and down the country and is one of a
range of measures to support our Business Banking customers to
achieve their goals and grow their business."
Bill Legg from Metallon said: "This initiative has been a great
success and allows my bank to better understand my business and the
issues I face on a day to day basis. After a day in the business
the only thing I can say is that James is certainly a better bank
manager than he is a scrap metal merchant!"
