Mansfield based building contractor Herbert Baggaley
Construction has embarked on a busy summer holiday period making
repairs and improvements to various schools across the East
Midlands after being selected for contracts through the Scape/East
Midlands Property Alliance (empa) Minor Works Framework.
The projects, worth a total of £1.4 million, have seen
teams from Baggaley carry out various repairs and improvements to
16 schools across the empa region, including creating new
classrooms at several schools in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire to
accommodate the new intake of pupils in September, to building a
new library for a school in Leicester and carrying out kitchen and
fire precaution works to a number of other schools.
Each project will last between three and eight weeks and where
jobs overlap with the start of the new term, work will take place
outside normal school hours to prevent disruption to staff and
pupils.
Ian Baggaley, managing director of Herbert Baggaley Construction
said: "We are delighted to have been awarded these contracts under
the Scape/empa framework. The framework allows public sector
clients quick and easy access to construction and consultancy
services and we hope the children and staff across the region will
benefit from the improvements to their schools and all can enjoy
the start of their new term in safe surroundings."
