Bard recruitment.
Hayley Davies has been appointed secretary of the director's
office which is one of the most varied jobs at the popular Midlands
attraction.
The 32-year-old came across the role after signing up as a
candidate at Katie Bard recruitment in Birmingham and after being
put forward for the job and impressing zoo bosses, she hasn't
looked back since.
"As soon as I saw the job description I knew this was perfect
for me," Hayley said.
"I've always loved animals and I've also got experience on the
secretary and PA side, so when I saw there was a job which combined
the two I was really excited.
"The job is really rewarding and I love the busy atmosphere and
being part of a big team and just little things like being able to
walk around the zoo at lunch times.
"Kam Vara and Julie Fouad from Katie Bard were fantastic
throughout the process of me being put forward for the job to
starting my first day at the zoo.
"With this job I'm constantly upbeat and even though I'm not
working directly with the animals there is that connection and in
the morning meetings we have you find out what's happening with the
animals so it is really interesting."
Kam, Divisional Leader at Katie Bard recruitment which is part
of the international Angela Mortimer Group, said Hayley had taken
on a very varied role. "This is a very quirky role, which
Hayley is perfect for," she said.
"She is extremely well organised and has strong secretarial
skills which is vital when working with the zoo's director Suzanne
Boardman as she is very busy and always on the move.
"The job involves supporting the executive team, from arranging
Suzanne's travel around the world and taking minutes in meetings,
to walking the director's dog and helping out around the zoo when
it gets busy - so no one day is the same!"
