West Midland Safari Park has scooped the prestigious "Best Animal Attraction" Award at the Group Travel Awards ceremony in London.

This annual event, which is organized by Group Travel Organiser magazine, recognizes all the very best suppliers to the group travel industry from Hotels and Resorts to Airlines and Cruise Lines.

Readers of the publication are then asked to vote for which they feel, is the very best in their category.  West Midland Safari Park was not only marked on the overall day experience on offer for groups, but also on the information provided prior to the visit, the way the booking was handled by staff, as well as the booking in procedure.

The "Best Animal Attraction" is a national award and one that is highly coveted amongst similar attractions. It joins the other 33 awards that the Park has notched up in the past 15 years!

Ivan Knezovich, The Park's Managing Director, said "It was a great honour for West Midland Safari Park to be voted the "Best Animal Attraction" at the Group Travel Awards ceremony. The Award means a lot to us - we have been in the business for almost 40 years and have always appreciated the great level of group business that comes our way.  We have a fantastic vision for the future and plan to create a world-class resort here in Bewdley. Therefore, the continuous backing of groups of all sizes will bring us closer to our goal".

West Midland Safari Park started the 2011 season by opening the largest Lemur walk-through facility in the country as part of a new interactive African Village project that includes a Meerkat Exhibit on the site of an existing Goat and Deer Park. The new features are part of a £1m investment in new attractions that are being launched during 2011.
