A lawyer from the Midlands has received an award at the most
prestigious ceremony in the legal calendar. Laura Kearsley, from
Weightmans' Employment team received the accolade for Assistant
Solicitor of the Year at The Lawyer Awards, held on Tuesday 21st
June.
The Lawyer Awards are widely recognised as the industry's event
of the year- celebrating the achievements of the country's best
lawyers at a ceremony that unites over a thousand solicitors at
London's Grosvenor House Hotel.
Laura is no stranger to award ceremonies; she was awarded
'Assistant/Associate Solicitor of the Year' at the Birmingham Law
Society Awards in 2010, as well as enjoying noted success at the
Women on their Way awards in 2009, where she won the Women in Law
category.
Laura is a prominent figure in the region's legal community and
the judges said that it was her keen involvement in the profession,
her mentoring of junior members of the team, as well as her
tireless work for clients through her role at Weightmans that
really impressed them.
Of her win, Laura said:
"To have received a nomination within such an esteemed shortlist
was an honour, and to win was just icing on the cake. The standard
of entries was really high so I'm thrilled to have been chosen by
the judges."
