A company specialising in computer training and support services
has opened a new training centre in Leicester with financial
support from Barclays Corporate.
JBC Training Ltd, whose first office opened in Coventry in 1984,
offers ICT apprenticeships to 16-18 year olds and also adults aged
19+.
The new training centre can cater for forty apprentices offering
a programme covering the installation, configuring and maintaining
of IT systems which equips individuals with the right skills to
carry out a junior IT technician role.
This move has created seven new jobs at the Leicester centre
which means that the company now employs 30 people across their two
sites and offers a total of 300 apprenticeships.
Commenting on the expansion: Dan Pearson said: "I am delighted
that we have been able to open a new training centre here in
Leicester offering paid apprenticeships for young people who are
interested in a career in ICT. It's an industry which we believe
has good long term prospects and we have already seen a great deal
of demand for the places available."
Richard Fray, Relationship Director at Barclays Corporate said:
"JBC have become a well established training provider within the
Warwickshire area and I am delighted that we have been able to
support their expansion across the border into Leicestershire."
The company also has plans to open a new centre in Northampton
during the next twelve months.
