GVA Birmingham, the region's largest property consultancy firm,
has made three director promotions.
In the Business Rates team, Andy Gray has been promoted to
director, with Mike Gill being promoted to senior director. David
Martin has been promoted to the position of senior director in
charge of Building consultancy.
Mike Gill and Andy Gray have been instrumental in developing
GVA's national Forensic Rates Audit service, which has saved
clients in excess of £40 million in the past three years. The
specialist service involves the assessment and auditing of business
rates liabilities, often looking at historical data to uncover
savings beyond the traditional rating appeal process. Clients for
this work are predominantly in the corporate and public sectors.
Andy Gray joined GVA four years ago from Birmingham City Council
specifically to deliver this service, while Mike Gill has already
enjoyed a 16 year career with the firm.
Since joining GVA from King Sturge five years ago, David Martin
has made a significant impact in the continued growth of the
Building consultancy department. David's new promotion now sees him
heading up the 18 strong Birmingham team.
Ian Stringer, senior regional director of GVA's Birmingham
office said: "These three promotions reflect the strength and depth
of our office in Birmingham, which now employs more than 350 people
and turns over in excess of £20 million each year.
"GVA was first established in Birmingham 190 years ago and we
are exceptionally proud of our history and track record for
delivery, which means that we are the largest single regional
office of any property consultancy firm. Having an outstanding
senior team with individuals like David Martin, Mike Gill and Andy
Gray on board is key to our continued growth."
The GVA Birmingham-based Building consultancy department has
seen recent expansion in its core building surveying and quantity
surveying teams, with clients including the Ministry of Justice,
Royal Bank of Scotland, and increased instructions from banks for
the appraisal and monitoring of distressed assets. The British
Council of Offices award-winning new office building in Kenilworth
for the British Horse Society was project managed by GVA.
