Booming Birmingham-based corporate clothing company Trojan Ltd has relocated to help it capitalise on the growing demand for its products and services.

Trojan has leased the 16,000 sq ft space at Kings Norton Business Centre, south of Birmingham, from SEGRO plc after it outgrew its previous premises in the Garretts Green area of the city.

Gabrielle Love, marketing manager at Trojan, said that the business had doubled in size in the past 18 months and had been searching for a suitable base. The company provides bespoke corporate and promotional clothing for clients including Drayton Manor Park, Europcar and British Gas.

Gabrielle said: "Prior to relocating at the beginning of May, we were based in a former bakery in Garretts Green for eight years. The space was divided into various units and, as we grew, we took on more and more units but it wasn't practical for order flow. We needed somewhere that provided a combination of warehouse space and office space, of the right size, in the right location and at the right price.

"Kings Norton Business Centre was exactly the right solution for us. It presents exactly the right impression to clients - the space meets our needs, it offers a professional shop-front for the business and reflects the success that we've enjoyed in the face of adversity."

Trojan's turnover has increased from £1 million four years ago to £3.5 million due to winning lucrative contracts in spite of the recession. Gabrielle puts this down to PLCs investing heavily in new work-wear and marketing. The business has set ambitious targets to reach by the end of 2012 and, she said, it was important that its premises reflected its expansion.

SEGRO leasing manager, Jane Leedham, said that Trojan was a very welcome addition to Kings Norton Business Centre.

"At SEGRO we want to do all we can to support businesses. We've listened to business leaders and entrepreneurs and adapted our lease packages to suit their requirements. We have a diverse range of spaces available, perfect for businesses like Trojan Ltd, who need extensive warehouse space to house its stock as well as offices from which to operate.

"Trojan Ltd has signed a 10-year lease on 59-61 Melchett Road, a prime location on the park. Because SEGRO plc's regional office is also on-site at Kings Norton Business Centre, Trojan has direct contact with the leasing and management teams, meaning they have constant peace of mind and access to us," she added.

Gabrielle said that Trojan had been firm that they wanted to remain in Birmingham.

"Not only do we have a lot of regionally-based clients, but because we have such great access to the motorway network and the airport, it is the optimum location to access the rest of the UK. Feedback from those clients that have visited us so far has been excellent - we feel like we've been here for ages already, we're right at home," added Gabrielle.

Kings Norton Business Centre is the premier Business Centre in south Birmingham, meeting the business space needs of a diverse range of companies. Located on a 24.3 hectare (60 acre) site, the development is wholly owned by SEGRO plc whose local management team is able to cater for the needs of the occupiers from its on-site regional office. The estate is maintained on a structured basis providing a first class business and working environment, with tenants benefiting from 24-hour mobile security, CCTV coverage and consequential low crime rates.
