Students from Birmingham Metropolitan College have been given
the opportunity to turn The Cube 'inside out' as part of a linking
learning with commerce project.
The HND graphic design students have been asked to find what is
at the heart of the landmark building and create a multimedia
presentation.
The group of around 15 students have four weeks to complete
their projects before presenting to the directors of The Cube and
their lecturer Adam Guy for a chance to win a place in the final
exhibition. The judging will take place on 23rd August and the
exhibition will follow at the Birmingham Metropolitan College's
FEED studio at Millennium Point.
Neil Edginton, a director at The Cube, said he was delighted to
welcome the students to The Cube and was excited to see the outcome
of their perceptions of the building which is inspired by an
enchanting jewellery box.
"I'm looking forward to the end result of this project as it
will be a very different perspective on The Cube."
Adam Guy, course director HND graphic design, said: "I would
like to thank The Cube for the opportunity to carry out this
project there. The Cube is a fascinating space and has a unique
atmosphere. I've asked the students to investigate every possible
square inch and explore the buildings soul."
