Russell Scanlan, one of the UK's leading independent insurance
brokers and risk managers, have [30th June 2011] revealed new
company branding. This comes as part of the firm's ongoing move to
position itself as a progressive, modern and high performing
company entering the next phase of its growth and development.
Despite the tough economic climate, Russell Scanlan - which has
offices in Nottingham and Leicester - has gone from strength to
strength over the past few years. It was the focus of a successful
management buyout (MBO) in 2007 and since then, has grown
substantially, increasing its turnover by 16.8% to an estimated
£1.9m. The firm has also increased the amount of money
currently going through its books (gross written premium) to
£13m, £800,000 of which was generated through the
Leicester office.
Over the past four years, core commercial insurance services
have accounted for the most significant rise in company activity.
The private client division has also grown, with over 60% of its
activity coming from high net worth customers. Uptake of services
for small and medium sized enterprises has also been high,
particularly in niche sectors such as micro-breweries, museums,
galleries and garden allotments.
As Bryan Banbury, Russell Scanlan's Managing Director,
explained: "We continue to be one of the most successful insurance
brokers in the UK. Our strong performance is down to our
independent status and flexible structure, as it means we can move
swiftly to exploit a gap in the market and develop new products and
services to address it."
Russell Scanlan continues to grow its client base and has
ambitious expansion plans - as highlighted through the opening of a
new Leicester office in 2009. However prior to their full
implementation, the company is keen to better communicate its
established strengths to existing and new clients, and it was this
that prompted the rebrand exercise.
Bryan continued: "We have an enviable business heritage having
been established in Nottingham for 130 years, but it is critical
that we are receptive to change and move with the times. We needed
the new brand to capture our offer as an innovative and cutting
edge firm. Russell Scanlan now has the look and feel of a company
that has renewed energy and is ahead of its game in the fast paced
commercial environment in which it functions."
The full extent of Russell Scanlan's sharper, cleaner and bolder
brand and identity includes new signage across its offices, a
revamped website and updated literature. The website in particular
is viewed as a critical component of the rebrand, since it will be
the first port of call for potential new clients.

continues to grow with us. But we also need to make it as easy as
possible for new clients to research us before approaching us to do
business. Our refreshed website, now incorporating social media
channels, provides the tools to enable them to do exactly this. It
also promotes Russell Scanlan's credentials, emphasising the firm's
traditional values and proven track record, as well as selling the
skills and expertise of the people behind the brand."
