Savills Nottingham reports a success rate of 80% in its latest
auction, while selling over £2.7million worth of property for
its clients.
The benefit of selling at auction was shown off to its full
potential as a fierce bidding war ensued for one of the star lots
last Thursday at Nottingham Racecourse.
With a guide of £150,000 to £200,000, 47
Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham was sold on behalf of
Nottingham County Council. The property enjoyed Wimbledon spectator
like bidding, with offers coming in from one side of the room to
the other. When the hammer eventually fell, the property sold for
£250,000.
With a number of lots sold prior to sale, there was genuine
interest across all aspects of the market, with Shardlow Lock House
on the canal bank at Shardlow achieving £137,500.
Likewise, investment properties on Middle Street in Beeston and
Harrington Drive in Lenton achieved £112,500 and
£183,000 respectively.
With over £2.7 million achieved to date and a number of
interesting lots already entered for the forthcoming September
auction, Bob Crocker, a Director at Savills Nottingham comments:
"Throughout the year, we have seen continued strong interest from
both buyers and sellers looking at the auction as a positive route
to achieving their ideal selling price. As we enter the second half
of the year, enquiries still remain strong with opportunities for
not only established buyers but also first timers looking to
acquire a principle residence or investment".
