Female staff from Halesowen-based chartered accountancy firm
Nicklin LLP put their best foot forward when they took part in a
5km walk for charity, raising £1,000.
The team donned pink T-shirts bearing the Nicklins logo for the
Race for Life event, which took place at Himley Hall, at Himley
Park, near Dudley, on 10 July in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Race for Life events take place across the country, with
participants invited to walk, jog or run to raise money for the
charity.
The Nicklins team decided to take part after former employee
Linda Haywood was diagnosed with breast cancer six months ago.
Linda, who is currently undergoing treatment, attended the race to
show her support.
At the end of the race, everyone who took part received a medal
to mark their achievement.
Partner Joanne Baldwin, who took part in the event, said: "The
walk was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who participated, although
of course it was all about raising money for an extremely
worthwhile cause.
"I am delighted that we managed to raise £1,000 for Cancer
Research UK. The money raised from events such as this will make a
huge difference to the lives of cancer sufferers everywhere."
