Four Seasons Health Care, has concluded a transaction to take
over the business operations of Care Principles, which includes
Middlestead House in Derby, Derbyshire.
The process has been given regulatory approval by the Care
Quality Commission after a careful individual review of every care
home and facility. The employment of all Care Principles employees
has transferred to Four Seasons Health Care and will ensure the
continuity and quality of care provided to patients
Care Principles provides care, treatment and rehabilitation for
people with learning disabilities or specialist mental health
needs. It offers over 430 beds in a total of 16 medium and low
secure hospitals, community hospitals and care homes. Middlestead
House is a specialist community-based step-down unit that provides
rehabilitation services for adults with a learning disability,
challenging behaviour or complex needs.
Four Seasons Health Care Chief Executive, Dr. Peter Calveley

residents into the Four Seasons Health Care Group. The services
offered by Care Principles align with those of our specialised care
provider The Huntercombe Group, which operates hospitals and care
centres providing treatment in the areas of mental health, acquired
brain injury, neurodisabilities, learning disabilities and children
with special needs. The two organisations will be able to enhance
their service offers through collaboration and combining the
specialist expertise that each has to offer."
Dr. Calveley added: "With the wellbeing of people in our care as
our priority, managers from Four Seasons Health Care and Care
Principles have worked closely together over recent weeks to ensure
the transition could take place with no disruption in our care for
patients or the quality of care services provided."
Four Seasons Health Care is one of the largest independent
providers of care services in the UK. It owns or operates over 400
nursing and care homes, hospitals and specialised care centres in
England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man. The Group
cares for over 15,000 people and employs over 21,000 staff. The
financial terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.
