Car and van owners in the Kidderminster area can now get their vehicles MoT-tested outside normal working hours, thanks to a new development by the town's Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealer.

A redesign and refurbishment of the workshop area at Mudie-Bond's dealership on the Hoobrook Trading Estate has freed up space for a dedicated, fully-equipped MoT testing bay.

Group After Sales Manager Steve Gerrard said: "Although we're a truck and van dealer we can now offer Class 4, 5a and 7 MoT tests that cover all makes of car as well as light minibuses and vans with gross weights of up to 3.5 tonnes.

"And because many operators prefer to keep their commercial vehicles out on the road and earning during the day then get them serviced at night or very early in the morning, our workshop is already open from 7.30am until 10pm Mondays to Fridays, and 7.30am-12.30pm on Saturdays.

"This means we can offer MoT tests long after most garages have locked up and gone home. So busy, hard-working tradespeople who can't afford to have their vans off the road during normal hours, and car owners who use their vehicles for work, can leave their vehicles with us at the end of the day then collect them first thing the next morning, along with a brand new test certificate. We know of no other garage in this area that can provide such a customer-focused service."
