Midlands' cosmetic surgeon Dalvi Humzah is bringing welcome relief to patients suffering from Hyperhidrosis, an excessive form of sweating.

Based at The Nuffield Hospital, Wolverhampton and Ramsey Healthcare West Midlands Mr Humzah's private practice, Plastic and Dermatological Surgery (PDS), is introducing patients to a needle-free Botox procedure designed to offer a non-invasive solution to men and women suffering from unwanted, excessive and embarrassing sweating.

Eradicating the discomfort and phobia of a needle, Botox is administered via a needle-free device into a patient's armpit to stop the production of sweat.

The procedure only takes 15 minutes and results can be seen up to four to six months after treatment.

It will also be particularly beneficial for men and women who suffer from excessive sweating due to nerves, anxiety or for those attending an important event such as a wedding or conference.

Affecting over one million people in the UK, Hyperhidrosis is a clinical condition which causes parts of the body to sweat beyond its physiological needs.

Co-chairman of the UK Botulinum Toxin Group for Aesthetics, Mr Humzah says too many men and women suffering from Hyperdidrosis are avoiding treatment due to a fear of needles.

He said: "Excessive sweating due to Hyperhidrosis can force individuals to change their clothes every few hours. It can also complicate business and social interactions and in severe cases, cause serious practical consequences such as making it hard to hold a pen, grip a car steering wheel or shake hands.

"With this needle-free procedure, patients can be confident in seeking a long term solution for excess sweating.

"Administering small doses of Botox into the skin blocks the actions of the nerves that supple the eccrine glands, thus preventing the glands from producing sweat. It can be safely used for palms, underarms, face and forehead excessive sweating.

"With results lasting up to four to eight months, the procedure is an important step forward for patients and can be life changing."

Treatment costs from £450 per procedure and is available from Mr Humzah's private practices in Worcester, Wolverhampton, Halesowen, Cheltenham and Solihull.

Plastic and Dermatological Surgery (PDS) is based at Nuffield Health Wolverhampton Hospital, Ramsay Healthcare West Midlands Hospital (Halesowen), Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital and Solihull Bupa Wellness Centre.
