Construction services company Mansell is celebrating after
completing a homebuilding contract worth £2.4 million to
build environmentally sustainable houses in the Cotswolds.
Mansell's Stourbridge-based Western Region has completed the
construction of 29 timber-framed homes in Philipscote,
Evesham.
The construction was carried out for the Rooftop Housing Group
in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency and Wychavon
District Council through Matrix Housing Partnership.
The work involved the construction of seven houses, 10 bungalows
for the elderly and 12 flats using timber-framed construction. The
homes use environmentally sound and sustainable materials from
managed sources and have achieved Code Level 4 for sustainable
homes.
Mansell Western Region manager of Partnership Housing, Simon
Liversage said the firm was very pleased with the end result.
"Our team takes environmental issues very seriously and we are
delighted to have the opportunity to construct sustainable housing
for the Rooftop Housing Group. We see it as a major responsibility
to work in a sustainable way that focuses on communities,
construction, stewardship, climate change and resource efficiency,
and it is ingrained into the Mansell culture," he said.
