Managing growth

Prop-Manage, the management and professional services arm of the highly successful commercial property agency Prop-Search, has appointed a new chief to the helm.

David Robbins BSc MRICS has joined the company from the Borough Council of Wellingborough where for the past five years he has worked an as interim Estates Manager, managing a diverse portfolio of both investment and operational properties.  During this time he was responsible for substantially increasing rental income through the active management of a number of industrial estates and project managing the registration of all property titles.

Commenting on the appointment, Simon Toseland a Director of Prop-Manage said: "We have recently been successful in securing additional management instructions on over 163,000 sq ft of space in the County and beyond, and felt that David's experience would be invaluable to our growing company."

David has also previously worked for Whitbread as an Estates Manager responsible for the Thresher retail portfolio, Costa Coffee, British Gas and Quench Retailing where he was responsible for a portfolio of 2,000 trading properties.

Prop-Manage handles all types of commercial property management from individual buildings to entire estate and Simon adds "Like property agency, successful property management relies on good communications. All too often letting agents pass on property management to a management department and then forget about it, moving on to the next 'deal'."

"We pride ourselves on maintaining regular contact with landlords and tenants - via Prop-search where the agency team is already appointed - with the purpose of ensuring a closer working relationship. This enables both positive and negative issues to be addressed, minimising voids and maximising income."

Prop-Manage can implement a customised plan of management, tailored to specific landlord requirements and take control and responsibility for all or part of the process to manage the landlord and tenant relationship.  The company uses dedicated systems to administer rent collection and reconciliation, as well as to provide an individual diary and alert facility for significant deadline relating to matters such as rent review dates, break options and service of Notices.
