A business development manager with a wealth of experience has
joined the team at a leading Midlands event group.
Lynn Gardner has been appointed by Southwater Event Group, which
owns The International Centre, in Telford - one of the UK's top ten
conference and event venues.
She worked previously for the Ricoh Arena as a key member of
their sales team and was responsible for selling the venue as a
conference and banqueting space, and as an exhibition venue. Lynn
has also worked for Heart of England selling the area as an event
destination.
"I'm delighted to be joining the Southwater Event Group as it's
a particularly exciting time for the Group thanks to their
expansion and development plans," said Lynn.
"There is real interest in the marketplace in the new Ludlow
Suite which is set to be unveiled in the next few weeks, and the
new space is proving to be a real attraction for event organisers
all over the UK."
Tom Gray, Southwater Event Group chief executive, said: "Lynn is
a welcome addition to our sales team as she brings a wealth of
experience from her previous sales roles.
"We are on the verge of unveiling our latest investment - a new
flexible event suite for up to 1500 delegates - and Lynn's skills
will prove invaluable in encouraging event organisers to consider
our venue as the home of their event."
The Ludlow Suite is on the ground floor of The International
Centre, with its own public concourse area, kitchens and catering
areas, and adjacent to new syndicate rooms.
Southwater Event Group has also joined forces with Telford &
Wrekin Council and other organisations to develop a £250
million regeneration plan for the town which will create a new
convention quarter with bars, restaurants and a new hotel.
As well as The International Centre, the Group is also made up
of The Holiday Inn (Telford), The International Hotel, Grays Hotel,
and stagecraftuk - an events production company.
