The corporate team in national law firm Gateley's Birmingham
office has acted for Environmental Support Sector Specialists
Silverdell Plc on its acquisition of A.H. Allen Ltd.
Silverdell recently acquired 100 per cent of the share
capital from the Hull based asbestos management consultancy and
will merge the £1.2m turnover business into its existing
specialist consultancy Redhills.
Redhills provides specialist surveying, consulting, analysis and
compliance services on all aspects of hazardous and waste materials
management in the built environment. The merger will provide the
company with additional capacity and access to a wider client base
in the North West and Scotland.
Gateley's Birmingham team worked closely with A.H. Allen's legal
advisers at John Barkers and Silverdell Plc, finance director, Ian
Johnson to ensure a seamless transaction. Ian Johnson said: "The
pragmatic approach and speed of response we received from the team
at Gateley, which helped us secure this key acquisition, was
certainly impressive. Time was of the essence as the deal is both
value-enhancing in the short term but also a further step towards
our strategic vision for becoming the UK's leading Specialist
Environmental Support Services business.
"A.H. Allen has a long standing reputation for its environmental
expertise and service quality and is a perfect fit for Redhills.
The acquisition will extend our geographic coverage and provide
further scale to our operations."
Katie Silvester, partner in Gateley's M&A team, led the
Silverdell transaction assisted by Tom Rush and Gemma Murphy. She
said: "We are delighted to have worked with Silverdell Plc on their
acquisition of A.H. Allen Ltd and admire their commitment to
improving the quality of the built environment and removing
environmental threats to public safety. We're pleased to have
been involved in this important deal which will enable the Group to
expand its expertise and offering across the UK. We wish them all
the best as they continue to expand their business"
