The latest edition of Chambers UK, the leading independent guide
to the legal profession, has rated 49 lawyers at Browne Jacobson as
leaders in their field. Of these 33 are based in the firm's
Nottingham office, 15 in Birmingham and 1 in London. Last year 42
of the firm's lawyers were rated by the guide.
The list of leading individuals will appear in Chambers UK 2012
which will be officially unveiled in October this year.
Amongst those lawyers joining the prestigious ranking for the
very first time are Neil Ward (Healthcare), David Maggs (Personal
Injury), Andrew Hopkin (Health & Safety), Fiona Butler
(Professional Discipline), James Tait (Employment), Laura Hughes
(Local Government), Nik Carle (Professional Negligence), Richard
Roberts (Intellectual Property) and Sarah Parkinson (Real Estate).
A further six partners also appear in two categories: Barry Sully,
Dominic Offord, Nick Parsons, Peter Ellis, Richard Barlow and Simon
Tait
Individuals are ranked after extensive research by the Chambers
team and nominations are put forward by peers, professionals,
referees and clients, as well as by the team submissions detailing
cases completed and interviews conducted with the researcher.
The rankings are based on technical legal ability, professional
conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence,
commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client.
Iain Blatherwick, managing partner at Browne Jacobson,
said:
"This is our strongest showing to date and it is a real honour
for the firm to have so many of its lawyers rated as amongst the
very best in their field by one of the leading legal directories in
the UK."
