With the country increasingly reliant on the private sector to
create growth in the economy, the Barclays Business event in
Solihull could not have come at a better time.
Over 100 businesses attended a 'Driving your business forward'
seminar to hear from the Managing Director of The Directors Centre
and business guru Robert Craven. The seminar, which was
hosted by Barclays Business and Solihull Chamber of Commerce
focused on the tools and techniques vital to business success. The
attendees also had a great opportunity to network with their peer
group
Mike Hill, Area Director for Barclays in Birmingham said:
in "Local businesses are the backbone of Britain's economy
and it's important to support the ongoing efforts of local
businesses in such challenging market conditions. Businesses in
Solihull have shown their resilience through the recent down turn
and this event was organised to provide the tools to help them plan
the next stage of their development."
Local MP Lorely Burt also attended the seminar and spoke about
the work of the Government in supporting SMEs. Commenting on the
objective of the event, she said: "I think Barclays are doing a
great job in increasing awareness for hard to reach groups and
young people on how to manage their finances, something I believe
we need much more of. The event with small businesses was very
interesting and the seminar with Robert Craven gave an exclusive
opportunity to help business owners seeking to grow their
enterprise. "
The session took place on the Barclays Take One Small Step unit
which is touring the country providing a venue for community and
business events and acting as an interactive training hub for
Barclays employees. The Truck was stationed at the Motorcycle
Museum.
