Energy efficient lighting company LEDinlight is continuing to
shine brightly a year after moving into the ultra green No.1
Nottingham Science Park, with sparks flying on a number of
eco-friendly projects including a new product launch.
The company, which was one of the first to take space in the
award-winning building, has just launched a single-ended LED tube
to replace fluorescent tubes. It fits directly into a standard
fluorescent light fitting without the need to do any
rewiring.
Eva Ottoson, managing director of LEDinlight, said: "It is
really important to provide products that are not only
cost-effective to run but also environmentally safe.
"Previously, we did not provide LED fluorescent tubes as the
available products contained components that are harmful and not
safe, but we have now developed a product that can be disposed of
safely and meet EU regulations."
The firm has been working on a number of other projects. It has
won a new contract with Nottingham City Transport (NCT) to provide
LED-ceiling panels that dramatically cut energy consumption. They
are currently being used in NCT offices.
The company is also working with clients nationwide including a
housing association in London and office developers in Manchester
and Nottingham.
Eva said: "The company has gone through a big reformation since
the beginning of the year, and it's extremely exciting to be
working on these new ventures."
The firm has come a long way since its formation in 2008. It now
plans to expand further by working in partnership with
organisations such as the University of Nottingham and the
Technical Strategy Board.
It aims to continue to develop eco-friendly light technology and
is working on a European transnational project to develop ways of
recycling LED lights. The project will continue over the next three
years.
