The Princess Royal will visit Alfreton-based fashion house David
Nieper on 12 September 2011 as part of her tour of Derbyshire
businesses.
The luxury fashion house has been manufacturing lingerie,
nightwear and women's clothing in Alfreton for 50 years.
The Princess will be taken on a tour of the family business,
which was founded in 1961 and now employs over 200 skilled people
from the region. David Nieper is renowned for its use of the
highest quality fabrics and its commitment to developing fashion
talent within the UK. All its collections are made in
Derbyshire.
Christopher Nieper, Managing Director of David Nieper, says: "We
are excited and honoured to be hosting the Princess Royal during
her visit to Derbyshire. It's a fitting way to mark our Golden
Jubilee year and will be an event our staff will remember for a
very long time. As long standing President of UK Fashion Exports,
the Princess is known for her support of British fashion, so I hope
she will enjoy seeing our products and learning about our constant
efforts to nurture fashion and manufacturing skills in the East
Midlands."
