Coventry-based Region Consultants has proved it won't let the
recession beat it by taking over a London-based competitor and
firmly establishing itself as a leader in its field.
Region Consultants was formed in 1989 and is the parent company
of RSL, a leading supplier of interactive public information
systems. Working from its Midlands' base, RSL delivers both
hardware and software nationally and globally and prides itself on
creating its products from start to finish at its workshop.
Now, Region Consultants has acquired competitor Kizoom, a
London-based company which specialises in delivering real-time
transport information to interactive kiosks and broadcast screens.
As part of the acquisition, Kizoom is being rebranded as
RSLCityspace, its London offices are closing and the business is
relocating to Coventry, where it will join RSL at its Fullwood
Close site.
Region Consultants' owner Bill Bottomley explains why the city
has always been the ideal location for their business: "We've been
based here since we started the business more than 20 years ago,
and we're delighted to be expanding and doing our bit to boost the
area's economy. Coventry is a great location, with easy access to
main transport routes, and has served us well for many years. We're
looking forward to many more years based here.
"I think part of the secret of our success is that we develop
our products from scratch, carrying out all the work here in
Coventry, based around what our customers tell us they need.
Through this, we have developed a strong understanding of our
customers and we also know our products inside out."
Region Consultants has a strong reputation in its market,
providing interactive public information systems to a wide variety
of clients. These include county and city councils, Centro, BAA
Scotland, tourist information centres and even prisons.
From concept and design to manufacture and implementation, all
operations are carried out at RSL's base until the product is ready
for installation at the client's chosen location. A skilled team
ensures the company remains at the forefront of their field, both
in terms of the design and functionality of the columns and systems
they produce, and in terms of the technology used.
As a result of the Kizoom takeover, Region Consultants is now
looking to expand its busy team and take on new employees. Bill
explained what the takeover has meant for Region Consultants:
"Kizoom has been a great fit for our business in several
ways.
Working in a similar market to RSL, Kizoom has complementary
products which we can now offer to our customers and, what's more,
we can bring our range of products and services to Kizoom's
clients. As a result of this, we are going to be looking to expand
our team here in Coventry and are very excited about the new
direction our business is taking."
