Specialist energy software provider Contigo has marked its first
international contract, having successfully sold its enVoy product
to France's second-largest energy producer, to assist in their move
into the UK market.
Renewable energy provider Compagnie Nationale du Rhône
(CNR) based in Lyon has purchased enVoy, a specialist package
designed to simplify the process of sending and receiving energy
industry data and a part of Contigo's hugely successful enTrader
energy retail portfolio management and fuel logistics product
suite.
enVoy maintains a real-time view of trading data and can be
easily integrated with existing trading systems, or alternatively
can be fully integrated with sister system enTrader. The system
automatically highlights discrepancies between trades and the
Elexon contract volume notifications (ECVNs), allowing disputes to
be raised, monitored and quickly resolved reducing the risk of
costly imbalance penalties being incurred.
CNR, which was established in 1933, specialises in providing
renewable energy through solar, wind and hydroelectric generators,
all of which are cited along the River Rhone.
Jon Yeomans, director, Contigo, said: "This is a new proposition
for Contigo, not only in terms of CNR representing our first
international client, but also in that they are unique in terms of
developing and generating their own power from the renewable
sources along the length of the Rhone.
"I am also extremely pleased that we have been able to use our
extensive industry knowledge and consultancy experience to assist
CNR in their transition into the UK energy market. This is a great
example of how we are continually looking to go above and beyond
the expectations of our customers.
"CNR will trade across the France-UK interconnector, hence their
need for a secure and auditable nomination tool such as enVoy. This
represents a first for both Contigo and CNR and I am extremely
pleased that we have been able to work together in ensuring that
they are fully prepared to enter the UK market."
Alongside their work in conservation and renewable energy, CNR
is responsible for the design and operation of hydroelectric power
plants, dams and locks as well as developing marinas, mooring
points and leisure areas along the river Rhone from its source near
the Swiss border to where it meets the Mediterranean Sea in the
south.
Cédric Prochasson, CNR, said: "The enVoy product is the
perfect tool to assist us in refining the import and export of
energy trading data, which has been invaluable in helping us
simplify our transition into this new market. The support
that Contigo has provided has been unparalleled and has ensured
that this transition is as smooth as possible."
With its energy certified as 100 per cent renewable, CNR is
committed to developing renewable energies and diversifying its
methods of producing electricity. Its goals for developing
generating capacity are ambitious in particular in the hydropower,
wind power and solar sectors.
