Property professionals from across the West Midlands became
music maestros for an evening as they came together to test their
musical knowledge at 'The Music Quiz from H.E.L.'
Hosted by Hortons' Estate Ltd (H.E.L), the 20 teams were
challenged on their musical expertise and dancing skills as they
helped to raise funds to support military patients at Queen
Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
This year's annual charity event took place at Penny Blacks in
the Mailbox, where over 120 people gathered to generate a grand
total of £5,000 for the hospital appeal.
Organiser and property manager at Hortons, Melissa Spence, said:
"We are delighted that the quiz has been a huge success and the
generosity of the teams and sponsors has been fantastic.
"Everyone embraced the occasion, especially during the Dancing
Queen round where we saw some very entertaining cha-cha-chas and
can-cans. Above all, we have broken our previous fundraising
total, which is great for the charity."
Throughout the evening members of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital
Charity were on hand to talk about the work it does and where the
donation would be directed.
"We rely on organisations such as Hortons' Estate to raise
monies to help fund the work we do and support those who need our
help.
"The hospital's current campaign, a Home for the Brave, will
provide a welcoming area for patients where they can spend time
with their family and friends in a non-clinical environment. We are
extremely grateful to everyone who has taken part to help us
achieve this goal," said Mike Hammond, Chief Executive of The Queen
Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity.
The teams faced eight challenging rounds including questions on
Jazz, Classical, Country, Musicals and Pop, with the ever popular
'Dancing Queen' round seeing the property experts demonstrate their
dance moves.
React Building Services Ltd from Solihull came out top and
crowned the overall winners, with Concept Signs & Display Ltd
close behind taking the runners-up spot.
