welcomes new Chief Financial Officer, Simon Richards to the
Airport
Birmingham Airport has welcomed the arrival of Simon Richards
who has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer. Simon is no
stranger to the aviation industry, joining Birmingham from Stansted
Airport, part of the BAA group, where he has held the post of
Finance Director since 2009.
Commenting on his arrival, Paul Kehoe, CEO of Birmingham
Airport, said, "I welcome Simon's appointment and am keen to work
alongside him as he takes the lead on our financial management
performance. I am confident that he will be a great asset to our
team as we strive to deliver profitable and sustainable growth at
the Airport for all our stakeholders."
Simon, previously held senior positions in E.ON, including
Finance Director of the retail division, Powergen, and of the
distribution division, East Midlands Electricity. He will head up
Birmingham Airport's Corporate Resources Division, which includes
the Finance, IS, Property and Purchasing Departments, as well as
being a key member of the Executive Team.
Simon, who lives in Solihull, said, "I'm looking forward to
working with the new team and being involved in key decisions to
take the business forward. Living in Solihull, with my wife and
children, the Airport is quite literally on my doorstep, so I've
always had a keen interest in what's happening here. Now I will be
able to become personally involved in the exciting developments
that are planned for the future."
Simon takes over this role from Mark Hattersley who worked at
Birmingham Airport since 2000.
