hopwood public relations have completed a marathon schedule of
fundraising to mark their 20th anniversary year, raising thousands
of pounds for charity.
The yearlong celebrations were rounded off when former PR
account manager Laurel Davis-Lyons ran the London Marathon, raising
money for Self Unlimited, a Leicestershire-based charity for people
with learning disabilities.
Staff and directors from the Regent Road based consultancy took
part in a series of events, including running a charity barbeque
for Self Unlimited and dressing up in pink for Breast Cancer
Awareness.
Senior account executive Kirsty Wilby completed a three-mile
marathon swim while several directors and staff took part in the
Santa Fun Run at Christmas.
Together, they raised a whopping grand total of £4,400 for
charities including Marie Curie Cancer Care and The Prostate Cancer
Charity.
Managing director Duncan Hopwood, who completed an Olympic
distance triathlon, said: "Our 20th anniversary year was quite a
ride, much like our two decades in business. Some of the challenges
were exhausting but it was such a pleasure to raise money for all
these wonderful charities. Now we have to decide what to do for our
21st birthday."
