Local chartered surveyor Robert Hartley has joined the board of
directors of The Mansfield Building Society.
Robert is managing director of commercial property consultant
Innes England which has a number of offices across the East
Midlands.
As well as being the managing director, Robert takes a leading
role within the firm's professional department. Working within the
property industry for more than 35 years, he has extensive
experience acting for corporate occupiers throughout the UK and
specialises in valuation, landlord and tenant and property
disposals.
Speaking about his appointment, Robert said: "I am delighted to
have joined the board because I strongly believe in the concept of
mutuality. The fact that building societies operate for the benefit
of their members and not for third party shareholders is as
relevant today as ever.
"Building societies in general also play a major part in
promoting home ownership and with my professional background I will
hopefully be able to add value to the debate about how the society
can grow and develop the business, even in the current challenging
economic conditions."
The Mansfield's chief executive Nigel Quinton said: "Robert
offers a wealth of experience in residential and commercial
property matters and is a welcome addition to the board. He
is widely respected by everyone connected with the local property
market and I have no doubt that his appointment will prove to be a
tremendous asset to the society."
