For the second year running, Team Motor Plus will be taking part
in the 24 hour Relay for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK. It
takes place this year on 2nd July at the Moorways Stadium in
Allenton near Derby. Each team taking part keeps at least one member
walking/running on the track at all times, day or night.
Team captain, Angie Kidd and some of the team visited the staff
at Motor Plus as they prepared for the event. She explained, "My
sister and I have always supported Cancer Research and when this
was advertised last year we knew we wanted to support it. It was so
much fun that we decided we'd do it again this year with even more
friends."
When Motor Plus heard of their challenge last year, they knew
they wanted to be involved. Commenting, Neal James said, "Angie's
brother-in-law is our After Sales Manager, so when Mark mentioned
that the ladies were taking part, we immediately said we'd sponsor
them to help the many lives touched by cancer". Angie's local pub
(the Windmill at Breadsall Hill Top) has also been very supportive,
helping them to stage many fundraising events in the run up to the
event.
Team Motor Plus is aiming to beat their £1000 total from
last year so if anyone would like to sponsor them, please send drop
it into the Motor Plus showroom in Chapel Street, Derby or on-line
at www.donatetomyrelay.org/teammotorplus/
